Backgammon Wagering Hints

Enjoying backgammon can be exciting, especially if you are aware of how to succeed by playing properly. But once in a while a hint or two can help you even more and develop you into a more accomplished player.

One of the greatest game plans to succeed is to barricade your opposing player in. It will keep them from advancing their checkers from your home board. This has to be done early in the match to keep your competitors two checkers in your home boardthere. So you must shift your checkers to points 7, five, and four as quickly as as you can and even two and 3 if possible. Maintain your point of 6 with the six checkers where it is. This will make sure that your competitor cannot get out of your home board and aid your odds of locking them in to come away with a win.

By barracading your competitor in, they will be praying for double 6’s when all other moves have been made to get those two checkers from your home board. If doubles aren’t tossed, your opponent will be forced to shift 1 checker at a time, as long as they toss a six or greater, and leave 1 checker vulnerable behind. Of course in the process of moving your own checkers, be certain you don’t leave one alone where your challenger can send you off to the bar to go through their side.

When in doubt, hit. This can assist you in winning largely because once your competitor is hit, that piece is the piece they need to move before they can do anything else in the game. So if you hit them multiple times, they’ll have to return a number of checkers back to the board and get past your checkers to win. Be certain you don’t hit where it will cause you to be open to getting hit yourself. Except of course when will be advantageous to you, as in early on in the game when your competitor will not have you locked in.

Landing a hit when you have a barricade started can also be great due to the fact that as soon as you get several spots blocked, your opponent will have a harder time getting their checkers away from your home board and crushing you. It’s even possible to hit them a number of times and get your barricade setup. That way you can prevent them from returning to the game board and even having a chance at defeating you.

These 2 tricks aren’t the only tactic to succeed, but they are exceptional ways for novices to grow into more skillfull players. When you master these, being victorious most of the time certainly won’t appear to be such a difficult thing to do.
